  TASTE OVER HEALTH: DECONSTRUCTING ADOLESCENT JUNK FOOD HABITS   By Jyothi Roy B.Ed Student, St. Thomas College of Teacher Education, Pala   ABSTRACT   While nutritional education is a core component of modern school curricula, a significant disconnect remains between adolescent health awareness and their daily dietary choices. This study investigates this "Knowledge-Action Gap" by focusing on two primary objectives: assessing the prevalence and frequency of junk food consumption and examining the perceptions and attitudes that drive these choices among adolescents. Conducted with a sample of 40 students, the findings reveal that while 95% of participants possess high nutritional awareness, factors such as sensory appeal and sedentary habits lead to frequent consumption.
